Description:

It is an epiphytic tropical plant (plant that originally grows on another plants). It is characterized as a drooping shrub, branched with leafless stems. The stems vary in color from dark green to greyish green and are sprinkled with soft whitish areoles. In winter the stems may turn red, that’s why this plant is often called "red rhipsalis". In late spring the plant blooms; the flowers’ color may vary from white to dark pink. It may produce small round purple fruits.

Plant care:

It likes a lot of brightness, however avoid direct sunlight.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 10 °C, for this reason it is recommended to place it in sheltered places: it adapts perfectly to the temperatures of apartments and offices.

It is advisable to always keep the soil fairly moist, never dry, therefore we recommend frequent but very light watering. Beware of stagnant water that could cause rotting.

A soil suitable for cacti is an optimal solution, even better if further mixed with pumice.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
