Lophocereus schottii f. monster

Often called "Totem Cactus", "Totem Pole Cactus", "Totem Pole", "Monster Whisker Cactus". One of the very few monstrous plants, that can be found in nature. It grows on the sandy soils of El Arco in Baja California. A columnar plant with green and stocky stems, which grows branched at the base and rarely from the stem. The epidermis is smooth, irregular and has bumps along the stem. The flowering of L. schotti f. monster is a rare thing to happen, but when happens it is a real beauty: up to 8 incredible pink flowers bloom from individual areoles.
