Description:

Also called 'Spider Plant' or 'Inch Worm Plant'. It is a succulent plant that blooms in autumn. The flowers pop up from the apex of the plant, and are of bright colors like red and orange. Its name S. stapeliiformis derives from the similarity with the Stapelia genus. Its long cylindrical stems are green, flecked with purple and are rough to the touch. Like many other plants of its kind, the stems of this succulent start growing underground and pop up on the surface after awhile.

Plant care:

Generally likes direct sunlight.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures, never below 5 °C, for this reason it is recommended to place it in sheltered but bright places during the winter period.

Almost all species of this genus need very scarce watering all year round, when it is evident that the plant needs it.

The soil varies greatly from species to species, however in general a well draining substrate is required.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
