Description:

It is a shrubby succulent, slightly branched, which does not exceed 30 cm in height. It produces a thick and woody tuberous stem, partially underground, on the top of which lanceolate leaves up to 8 cm long grow, that are slightly concave, of a dark green color and covered with a whitish down that makes the plant soft to the touch. Precisely for this particular characteristic of its foliage this Tylecodon is often called "Bunny Ears", while the scientific name 'leucothrix' comes from the Greek words "leukos" - "white, shiny" and "thrix, trichos" - "hair". In summer, when the plant begins to lose its leaves, its beautiful tubular white or pink flowers appear.

Plant care:

It requires a lot of brightness during all seasons and rather airy places.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 6 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once a week in spring and summer, once a month in autumn and to suspend watering completely in winter.

The best option is a soil suitable for cacti, even better if further mixed with pumice or lapilli.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
