Description:

Pleasant succulent characterized by tuberous body, partially underground, of woody and rough consistency, which does not reach considerable size but, in the vegetative season, is completely covered by a pretty tuft of elongated leaves of bright light green color. The foliage has multiple symmetrical and well furrowed veins , only slightly hidden by the soft whitish down that covers the entire epidermis and makes it almost silvery under sunlight. The down, in addition to giving the exemplar a new charm and elegance, protects the succulent from the elements and makes it much more resistant! One of the strengths of Sinningia is undoubtedly the inflorescence: in summer the plant is adorned with white flowers consisting of a very long floral tube that opens only at the apex (hence the name of the species), able to emit very intense fragrances.

Plant care:

It requires a lot of light during all seasons, however, avoid direct sunlight.

Its natural habitat is in tropical climates, thus it does not withstand temperatures below 10 °C, on the other hand, it does not like too dry heat. It is therefore advisable to keep it away from cold and intense sun.

During the warm seasons water it regularly but moderately to keep the soil moist. In winter it is advisable to completely suspend watering, as the plant enters vegetative rest.

A substrate composed of soil combined with fine sand is an optimal solution, as long as it is well draining and avoids rotting.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
