Neoporteria nidus f. senilis

Neoporteria nidus f. senilis, hence the scientific name Eriosyce senilis, is a solitary, globular cactus with a purple body, that over time may become of a cylindrical shape. It is characterized by long, twisted and thin white-cream spines, similar to soft and flexible hair, which cover almost the whole body of the plant and make it easily identifiable. In late spring, funnel-shaped inflorescences of an intense magenta color with a yellow throat are born at the apex, surrounded by a white down.
