Gymnocalycium denudatum cv. Jan Suba

A small perennial cactacea, typically solitary. The globular stem, slightly concave at the apex, varies in color from greyish-green to dark green, and has slightly accentuated ribs with large rounded tubercles. From the sparse and distant white areoles, yellow, long and curved radial spines grow, that embrace the stem and resemble small spiders. Flowering occurs in spring and summer, generating large funnel-shaped flowers of a beautiful bright red-magenta color.
