Description:

The variegated shape of this cactus presents the typical yellow areas in the exact places where the chlorophyll is absent; such areas will never be identical from one plant to another, thus making each exemplar absolutely unique and, for this reason , very sought after by collectors. In its normal form it is an erect cactus that with time can branch both at the base and along the stem and has deep and thin ribs. Its light green trunk tends to turn bluish-green over time. From the sparse white and fluffy areoles come out needle-like spines, of yellow-brownish color. During the inflorescence period you can admire its beautiful and huge funnel-shaped flowers with a pinkish-white color. The elegant lines of Cereus forbesii make it ideal and perfect to enhance any type of furniture.

Plant care:

It likes an exposure to full sun in rather airy locations.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 10 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water moderately and only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water it once a week in spring and summer, reduce it to once every two months in autumn and to suspend it completely in winter.

A well-draining and mineral-rich substrate is an optimal solution, for example a soil suitable for cacti mixed with pumice.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
