Description:

A particular caudiciform plant (caudex) succulent, with a rounded stem similar to grape vines, from which it often and erroneously takes the name of “Vitis tuberosa”. It branches out at the apex of the caudex, its green deciduous leaves (which fall off during the dormant period) grow from the long stems, are of a lanceolate shape, with indentations along the edges.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and above all never below 6 ° C, for this reason it is recommended to place it in sheltered and airy places during the winter.

Water moderately, only when the soil is completely dry. It is sufficient once a week in spring and summer, a reduction every two months in autumn and to suspend completely in winter.

A well-draining and mineral-rich substratum is optimal, for example a soil suitable for cactaceae, to which pumice can be added.

They do not need frequent fertilizations, it will be sufficient to dilute fertilizer with watering once a year.
