B. insignis, also commonly known by the name of "Hawaiian palm", is an exemplar of succulent with a caudiciform stem, which assumes geometric shapes similar to a bottle and can reach in nature remarkable heights. The epidermis of its caudex is grey-brown, dotted with whitish marks, scars of its fallen leaves. These ones are very fleshy, of a bright green colour and arranged in such a way as to make the plant look like a palm tree. B. insignis comes from the Hawaiian Islands, prefers high temperatures and does not survive below 20 degrees. The flowering period is autumn-winter, during which this succulent gives us beautiful six-pointed star-shaped flowers with delicate colors such as yellow or white.
